April Arrivals on Disney Plus: Watch the new Star Wars series, the Live Savannah Bananas Game and more
We all know that Disney Plus is a hub for Disney content, new and old, as well as Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and National Geographic. While it’s comforting to revisit those classics, the platform also releases plenty of new shows and movies each month, including original series, Disney Jr. titles, Nat Geo documentaries and old library content like sitcoms, reality shows and movies. You can even find live sports on the streamer. (The Walt Disney Company owns ESPN, after all — it should respect corporate partnerships.)
In April, Disney Plus brings entertainment that will delight fans of all genres and franchises. April 6 marks the series premiere of Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, a new animated show set in the aftermath of the events of the Clone Wars, and new episodes will air weekly throughout the month.
You can also catch new episodes of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again, every week, live episodes of American Idol and the banana football match between the Savannah Bananas and the Party Animals that will be broadcast live on the platform on Saturday, April 25 at 7 pm ET.

Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord (first two-parter)
The newest entry in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord, will premiere on April 6 in two episodes. The animated series, set after the events of the Clone Wars, features Sith lord Maul (portrayed by Sam Witwer) as he plans to rebuild his criminal organization on Janix, a planet untouched by the empire. Additional cast members include Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Dennis Haysbert and Richard Ayoade. The series will have 10 episodes that wrap in early May.

Narrated by Josh Gad, Orangutan is a Disneynature original film shot in the jungles of Southeast Asia. It mainly follows a young orangutan named Indah, as he prepares to leave his family and live independently. The film arrives on Disney Plus in time for Earth Day, April 22.

- Inside Out Classic: Another animated version of the NHL Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers game airs at 7 pm ET.

Banana Ball: Party Animals vs. Banana
Banana Ball is back and bigger than ever this year! What started as one dream team (the Savannah Bananas) is now a full-fledged league with six teams playing their own version of baseball with a few new rules that are very specific to the game. On Saturday, April 25, you can catch the Savannah Bananas playing rivals the Party Animals live at Yankee Stadium in New York City. You can watch the sold-out game from home on ESPN Unlimited or Disney Plus at 7 pm ET.
