A former Air Force missile chief says UFOs disabled nuclear weapons in Montana during the Cold War.

A retired US Air Force launch officer says UFOs disabled several nuclear missiles when they appeared in the Montana area where they were stationed decades ago.

Robert Salas says a mysterious force disabled the military’s ability to control 10 Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missiles armed with nuclear weapons at Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967, the 85-year-old veteran said on the Danny Jones Podcast Saturday.

Salas – whose job was to launch and monitor nuclear missiles “if given the command” during the Cold War – and his colleagues were in the underground control room at around 10:00 on March 24 of that year when the alarmed guards called over another unknown vessel.

“The senior security guard calls and says, ‘Sir, we’ve been seeing strange lights in the sky, flying straight up,'” Salas said.

Salas said the guards insisted that the planes were not Soviet planes, pointing out strange lights as they entered the sky before coming to an abrupt stop over the surface of the ICBMs.

He initially dismissed the report, thinking it was a prank – but five minutes later, the security guard answered, “yelling into the phone.”

“He’s screaming. He’s screaming. He’s scared,” Salas recalled.

After he had cooled down, the guard told Salas that his men had pointed their weapons at the craft that hovered above the base’s front gate, emitting a “flashing red light.”

Salas said a panicked security guard asked what to do next, and he told her, “Do whatever you have to do.”

The guard then said that one of his men had just been “injured” before hanging up.

Salas said he then went to wake up his partner, who was resting, when “suddenly” a loud horn sounded from the controls, indicating that something was wrong with the missiles.

“We looked at the board, and sure enough, one of them went from green to red. There is no ability to start,” said Salas. Then, very quickly after that, bing bing bing, all 10 went down.

They jumped up and ran through their checklist, then saw two launch sites miles away that indicated that “someone or something” might have breached the missile defense.

Salas said he immediately sent security guards to the missile depots, and when they were about a kilometer away, they saw lights shining above the launch sites.

“They were scared to death,” he said. “They did not want to continue, they were very afraid of these things.

Salas said he later learned that the injured security guard had injured his hand while removing a jam from his gun or cut it with barbed wire during their encounter.

He also studied rangers who said they had seen craft in the area in the days before the encounter, moving in reverse, making sharp 90-degree turns and flying silently.

The former nuclear missile official said the investigation led by Boeing could not determine what caused the warheads to shut down, adding that the systems were designed to prevent explosions.

“They didn’t know how to put this mark on each missile,” he said. “The cabling system we had was triple shielded from external magnetic interference.”

Salas said he is convinced that intelligent non-human civilizations visited Earth to prevent nuclear war.

“There is another civilization that is visiting us and is worried about us destroying this planet with a nuclear war, for many reasons, maybe some that we don’t even understand,” he said.

Air Force investigators forced Salas and his commander to sign strict gag orders following the encounter, warning they could face arrest if they spoke about it.

He finally went public decades later after reading about a similar incident in a UFO book and concluded that the information had been leaked.
