Aaron Rodgers he chose The Pat McAfee Show – where else? — to deliver a personal and heated interview he recently recalled, lashing out at his ex-girlfriends, revealing new details about when he met his wife, Brittani, and criticizing the obsession with his private life.
The March 4, 2026 episode covers everything from clinical bipolar to WAG culture to whether Rodgers can still play in the NFL. And the man who hosted it all, McAfee himself – a close friend of Rodgers’ – has yet to meet the quarterback’s mysterious wife.

Aaron Rodgers Takes a Dig at Exes
Rodgers didn’t hold back when the conversation turned to his past relationships. He didn’t mince words, but the quarterback left enough context for anyone paying attention to connect the dots.
“I was dealing with bipolar. I was dealing with relatability and depression,” Rodgers said during the episode. “I dealt with people who wanted to look at other opportunities before they committed to me and they went on TV talking about how I ruined their lives and all this. I just want to say, ‘Go on with your life.’
He continued.
“I had some people call the paparazzi, who talked about where I lived, who forced me to write stories for Instagram and social media,” Rodgers continued. “I never wanted to live a public life.
Before marrying Brittany, Rodgers had several high-profile relationships. He was engaged to an actress Shailene Woodley from 2021 to 2022 and started as a NASCAR driver Danica Patrick from 2017 to 2020. Before Patrick, Rodgers had a three-year relationship with the actress. Olivia Munn from 2014 to 2017. He was also linked to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach again Mallory Edensdaughter of the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks Wes Edens.
Rodgers didn’t directly link his comments to Patrick, but the runner has been open about their relationship and split since it ended.
“It was sudden [and] it felt like it was my life,” he recalled during a May 2025 appearance on the “Sage Steele Show” podcast. “You know, when you live with someone, it’s like, for the rest of your life. Your dentist appointment, your haircut, your clothes, your mailing address. That’s right, like everything.”
She also revealed that the “relationship situation was emotionally abusive” and “weary [her] to nothing.”
“Someone who people will never think that I won’t trust myself or believe in simple things about who I am. Yes, everything was slow,” said Patrick. “He leaves a trail of blood, I don’t think I’m saying things that destroy the world as there are enough of them out there. [The breakup] he gave me the greatest gift of all, which was me. I said, ‘Wow.’ It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to express myself and take care of myself.”
Aaron Rodgers Shares Details About Brittany
In the same interview, Rodgers revealed new details about his relationship with Brittany, whose full identity has yet to be revealed.
“When we met in 2017, I knew there was something crazy special about this and I wanted to be with him,” Rodgers said. “He said funny things like, ‘I’ll never live in Green Bay’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ He is not a public figure.”
In 2017, Rodgers was the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, a job he would hold until the end of the 2022 season. Rodgers and his wife got married in June 2025.
He also talked about where Brittany stepped, saying, “He went back across the lake and I went into crazy town.”

Rodgers used McAfee’s interview to draw a sharp line between his wife and the public-spirited partners of other athletes.
“He didn’t sign up for these bulls***,” he told McAfee. “She signed up for this because she loves me and supports me and wants to spend the rest of our lives together and start a family together, she didn’t sign up to be a social media WAG.
Rodgers revealed that all the attention on his marriage forced the couple to move out of their Malibu beach home.
“The anxiety is weird,” he said. “That’s the only way to put it. The obsession is really weird.”
Rodgers said he maintains a growing “small circle,” given his privacy concerns.
“The people in this circle know [Brittani],” he emphasized, “They have met him and they love him.”

In the days before the interview went down, McAfee spoke at length about what he hopes to see from Rodgers in an interview with Rodgers. Daily Mail. When asked if he met Brittany, his answer was telling.
“Never,” McAfee said. “But again, I’m happy for him … and if I get a chance to meet him, that will be great.”
Fox Sports a reporter Jen Halewho has become friends with Rodgers over the years, revealed a different level of access – he knows Brittany’s identity but refuses to reveal her publicly.
“Everybody knows,” he said Daily Mail. “I can’t [say who she is]. If I could, I would, but I can’t. You are happy. You are in a really good place.”
Hale continued, “I’ve never met him. I don’t know him. Aaron has become a friend over the years, so I wish him the best. I think he’s happy. And that’s all you want from your people — you want them to find their comfort zone and their happiness. He went through some really tough times, and I’m glad he’s in such a good place now.”
The NFL question is still to come
All in all, Rodgers’ football future is up in the air. He still hasn’t announced his decision on whether he will play next season, if he does he will return to the Steelers.
“I think he was still able to spin it. [But] whatever he wants to do, I hope he’s happy,” McAfee told the newspaper Daily Mail Rodgers’ rebounding ability. “And if we see him throwing balls again, I hope he’s on the winning team.”
The four-time NFL MVP said he spent most of his offseason spending quality time with his wife while doing everything he could to stay in good shape.
“I try to stay healthy, it’s hard when you get older,” she said. “You can’t take the same amount of time off as you used to. After many seasons, I would take a few weeks off, a month off, a month and a half. Now that you’re 42, you have to keep up with diet and sleep and exercise if you want to look good.”
Rodgers added, “I want to look good. I want my wife to want to please me all the time.”
Although McAfee has never met Brittani and likely won’t soon, he summed up his feelings for Rodgers with the kind of honesty that defines their dynamic — on and off the air.
“He has dedicated his life to this game,” said McAfee. “Obviously, there’s a lot of public scrutiny about everything he’s ever done. Some of it is caused by him. Some things, I think he gets taken out of the script a lot. He’s misunderstood.”
McAfee added that he “would like Aaron Rodgers to be happy.”
