Texas Voter Chaos Stymies James Talarico & Jasmine Crockett Senate Race

“We’re not going to have election results tonight in Dallas County,” Democratic Senate candidate Jasmine Crockett told supporters Tuesday after primary voting closed in Texas.

“People are being tortured!”

In one of the most-watched Senate races of the November primaries and midterms, Crockett’s comments came as a flurry of votes from his stronghold of Dallas County came in and significantly cut his opponent James Talarico’s position. About 72% of the Texas primary vote among Democrats has come in so far with Talarico leading by 5% over Crockett.

Both Joe Rogan’s guest and Texas House of Representative member Talarico and Rep. Crockett argued that they could mobilize voters, win the LBJ home, and help the Dems regain control of Congress.

Still, under this year’s complicated and convoluted primary process, and the fallout from the latest round of hacking, many Texas Democratic voters in the mega-county were unable to vote at the state’s polling stations and precincts. To ensure that every vote is cast and counted, a provincial judge ordered polling stations in the main area to be kept open until 9pm local time – giving citizens a few hours to vote.

The emerging country’s decision Crockett took to social media today to make sure fans know about it.

In a move clearly made in Texas that quickly took over CNN and MS Now’s election coverage, the Democratic primary was once again thrown into disarray in the state’s second largest district by Ken Paxton.

The GOP Senate member and MAGA fave put on his district’s Attorney General’s 10-gallon hat and asked the Lone Star Superior Court to stop the extension of voting hours in Dallas County – which they quickly did. Possibly setting the stage for a voter suppression lawsuit, the Texas Supreme Court ruled late Tuesday that ballots “cast by voters who were not in line at the polls at 7pm must be split.”

How those split votes will be counted, and if they will, remains unclear.

Despite the possible illustration that Donald Trump and the Republicans intend to muddy the waters of the election in November, it is very clear that the telegenic Crockett and Talarico, who did not speak to his supporters tonight, have a lot of deep pockets based on the home of Hollywood.

Among entertainment industry sponsors, the Crockett vs. Talarico was the most watched of all the primaries on Tuesday. Both seen as rising stars in the Red State and Democratic Party, Talarico and Crockett each sought industry support in the past few months.

A heavy presence on social media since being elected to Congress in 2023, Crockett spoke to The Working Group, a monthly Zoom call that brings together an audience of writers and producers. Figures such as Bruce Cohen and Judd Apatow have donated to his campaign. Talarico last month hosted a fundraiser in Los Angeles hosted by James Costos and Michael Smith. Former HBO executive and Obama-era Ambassador to Spain Costos has long been known to remain politically close to the former POTUS.

The LA event at the home of Costos and Smith took place a few days after Talarico sat down for an interview with Stephen Colbert that was to be broadcast on CBS’. The Late Show. But Colbert said CBS lawyers told him he couldn’t have Talarico on the air, because of the FCC’s violation of the Equal Time Rule, which requires broadcasters to offer airtime comparable to competitors when putting a candidate on their radio.

Publicity of the incident helped drive donations to Talarico’s campaign

He raised $2.5 million after the interview was moved from broadcast to YouTube. Proving a boon in Talarico’s case, Colbert’s semi-censored interview received more than 9 million views on the platform, far more than it would have otherwise. The Late Show.

The Chairman of the FCC, Brendan Carr, criticized the media that reported this incident, saying that it was a “fraud” as Talarico said that it was the organization that banned him from the radio. In fact, it was up to CBS to decide whether it wanted its affiliates to participate in giving time to Talarico’s rivals. Crockett was already open The Late Showbut they had another opponent in the primary, Ahmad Hassan – – who is not very visible tonight.

For Texas Republicans, their Senate race heads to a runoff on May 26 with four-term incumbent John Cornyn facing MAGA supporter Ken Paxton.

As we head into November’s charged season, Grammy-winning Latin singer Bobby Pulido has won the Texas primary. Blessed with big name recognition, middle of the road Puildon will face GOP Rep. Monica De La Cruz is in charge later this year.
