“The greatest President and the greatest Cabinet of my life,” Woods, 78, wrote on X on Saturday, February 28, along with a photo of President Trump, 79, and his cabinet posing for a photo in the Oval Office.
Woods arrived on the same day as the president, who campaigned as a pro-peace president who promised an end to hostilities, announcing that the United States and Israel had begun ongoing strikes on Iran.
“You said you’re going to start a war – I’m not going to start a war, I’m going to stop wars,” said candidate Trump during the 2024 campaign. “We don’t need wars. [in] foreign countries — countries you’ve never heard of, countries that don’t want us there either. We were crazy, what we did – we had these endless wars, going on for 21, 22 years spending billions and billions of dollars. “
On Saturday, Trump acknowledged that more American lives will be lost as a result of continued military action.
“I do not make this statement lightly, the Iranian regime wants to kill,” said the president. “The lives of brave American heroes can be lost and we lose. That often happens in war, but we’re not doing this now, we’re doing this for the future and it’s a good job.”
