Gavin Newsom’s new book reveals a drunken night, the history of dating

Gov. Gavin Newsom has revealed new details about the drunks and thugs that characterized his early years in politics, as he roamed San Francisco drinking fine wine and dating socialites, actresses and party girls — all in his new book, The Fast Guy, released Tuesday.

The governor revealed that he did not handle the bachelorhood “with understanding” after his divorce from Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2005, when he served as mayor.

“After a twelve-hour day at work, a single man arrives at a restaurant, orders a glass of wine, chats with an old customer, chats with a new friend, orders another glass of wine, orders takeout, goes home, and wakes up the next morning believing that what happened the night before was a private affair.”

The memoir covers many of Newsom’s past performances, though it conspicuously leaves out his brief relationship with Brittany Mountz, who was only 19 when Newsom, 38, dated her. Newsom later told The New York Times that the two went on for “a few days.”

Newsom is dating “dark and seductive” actress Sofia Milos – despite warnings from aides that she was a Scientologist trying to hire him, according to Newsom’s letter.

The relationship only ended when billionaire oil heir Gordon Getty, who registered his Plumpjack winery with his political career, told her to break things off with a “personal note” written in pen.

Getty “went down to his study and wrote me a secret letter, in pen, which arrived at my house a few days later saying: ‘I am very concerned about what is going on between you and this woman.

Milos and Newsom go their “separate ways,” but Newsom’s meeting will lead him down a bad path.

Instead, the mayor went to work and heard about it all from his assistants.

“Ruby was drinking too much with me,” Newsom wrote of his former campaign secretary, then named Ruby Rippey-Tourk.

“He was among the gang that came to my house for the party. He was the last to leave. It was a stupid and very short story. A year later, thanks to him, Ruby decided to come clean in his group of twelve steps, “and Newsom later admitted this story to the press.

He said in the letter that he had been attending counseling sessions at Delancey Street, a substance abuse organization, but his counselor eventually told him that he did not have a drinking problem.

“You can start drinking your king’s wine again,” the adviser was quoted as saying.

Newsom also discussed his five-year relationship with ex-girlfriend Kelly Phleger, who is now the wife of actor Don Johnson.

The Duke also revealed his initial doubts about his marriage to Guilfoyle.

One night, maybe eight or nine months into our marriage, I sat alone in one of our Plumpjack delivery trucks and thought about whether marrying Kimberly was the right thing to do. Did I love him? Did he love me?”

Newsom was warned by Billy Getty, Gordon Getty’s son, to “watch out” for the then-San Francisco prosecutor before taking the couple’s trip to Hawaii with Getty’s wife, Vanessa Getty.

Newsom finally went on a blind date with his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, in 2006.

Newsom, now a feminist, was criticized for blaming Rippey-Tourk for her affair with Newsom, saying she was the “cause” of the conflict. He later apologized for these words.
