Madi Prewett Was Set Up With Grant Troutt’s Brother Before Their Blind Date
Madi Prewett again Grant Troutt they probably missed their love connection.
On the Wednesday, February 18, episode of her “Stay True” podcast, Prewett, 29, opened up about who she really should have dated back in the day while chatting with Troutt, 29. She revealed that her family friend initially tried to set her up with the wrong Troutt brother.
“We have a family friend who was trying to stop me—” Prewett said before Troutt finished his sentence, replying, “And my brother!”
“Besides, you talked to my mom about opening your book at our house,” Troutt recalled. “What are they [odds]? That’s crazy. You wanted a place to put your book.” Prewett added that he had “just moved to California” at the time. “We both had friends. That’s what connected me to your mother because the Troutts hold events at their house sometimes.”
He continued, “I had a conversation with your mom for about an hour. I said, ‘This woman is amazing. We’re on the same page. She likes the truth … I think I texted her and said, ‘We should have coffee.’ I don’t think he sent me a message.” While laughing, Troutt revealed that the “amazing woman” is now Prewett’s mother-in-law.
“It was a great conversation,” Prewett said. “The next thing I know, [my friend says] there is one Troutt son. You have to communicate. Preston Troutt. So my only understanding of the Troutt family was Lisa and Preston Troutt. “
Grant then joked that God is “hiding [him] away” from Prewett and “preparing” him to meet his “wife”.
Prewett explained that “it didn’t go anywhere with Preston” and the two “didn’t even write a script” [or] “go on a date.”
The Bachelor Nation star recalled finding out she was set up on a blind date with Grant, which was the first time she learned there was another member of the Troutt family.
“Until this time, I had only seen you in church,” said Grant. “I was on my knees – not literally – but I was like, ‘Who is this woman? I want her to be my wife.’
Six months later, Grant came home from a trip and reconnected with Prewett on their date and they ended it.
Elsewhere in the episode, Prewett opens up about their dating life together, which she calls “not perfect.”
“It really wasn’t,” Grant admitted.
Prewett explained, “I think there were things we did well and things we didn’t do well.

Grant also revealed that he was so afraid to ask Prewett that he wouldn’t even come to his friend until he convinced him otherwise.
Prewett and Grant tied the knot in 2022. Two years after their wedding, the couple announced via Instagram that they were expecting their first child together.. In January 2025, Prewett gave birth to a daughter, Hosanna Rose.
