Harry styles he almost disappeared into the light after wrapping Love on Tour – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“At the end of the tour, the idea of going out felt crazy. I didn’t know if I could do it, but it was the right time for me,” Styles, 32, told me. The styles were world-class Love on Tour concerts from September 2021 to July 2023. After the shows, the Grammy winner found peace and comfort in Italy.
“Italy has become really special to me in the last few years. I drove from London to Rome during the COVID, when you could travel,” Styles told the outlet. “I had spent all my years before that trip – with little gaps in between – and if I had a week off I wouldn’t drive anywhere, I would get there and come back as soon as I could.”
He once folded Love on a journey, Styles insisted on spending his hiatus in Italy.
“I drove there, and I thought, ‘I’m going to enjoy doing this.’ When I was in Rome, the city just taught me how to slow down,” he explained. “Italy was very important to me because I was used to everything moving fast and being on the go, but then I remember going to the cafe and drinking coffee and thinking, ‘I don’t remember the last time I sat down and drank coffee – if I ever sat down and drank coffee.’
Styles continued, “I just learned, through my friends, that eating is more than just sitting down and putting on fat. I saw the joy of being in the moment of what you’re doing. The Romans are the best at that – that’s their specialty. The pace he taught me was very special.”
During his break from the limelight, Styles’ family also grew.
“At that time, my sister had a baby,” Styles said The Times sister’s, Gemmawelcoming his daughter in 2024. “At any other time in my life, I would have missed a lot of that. Being there to know my nephew as he grows up, it’s clear to me what’s real. It was really clear that’s where I wanted to be.”
Allowing for a change of pace, Styles has found an innate sense of freedom.
