Is Vincent Trocheck’s Market Slowing As He Waits For Dylan Larkin To Be Traded?

Are the Rangers waiting on the Red Wings to trade Dylan Larkin, before they trade Vincent Trocheck? His market may be shrinking
TSN: The New York Rangers may be waiting for the Detroit Red Wings to trade Dylan Larkin, before they look to move Vincent Trocheck, according to Pierre LeBrun. Some think this gives the Rangers more control over the midfield.
The teams told LeBrun that if Steve Yzerman doesn’t get what he’s asking for, it’s okay to bring Larkin back next year. That would be posting, but this is Steve Yzerman.
“Right now, to Trocheck, I talked about Buffalo, I think the Leafs called last week, the Montreal Canadiens are monitoring that situation, and there are a lot of teams interested.
The asking price from New York is a first-round pick and a prospect, I’m told. How many teams are willing to plan for that?”
NHL Rumors: Blues, Leafs, Bobrovsky, Carlo, Marchenko, Binington, Ristolainen, Ingram and Hague
Chad DeDominicis: “I don’t have anything as of yet but it sounds like the Sabers connection to Trocheck is real. I’m not sure of much more than that. We’ll see where it goes.”
Marco D’Amico: “Nothing is going to happen here, but I heard the Buffalo Sabers have had discussions about Vinny Trocheck.”
Peter Baugh and Vincent Z. Mercogliano for The Athletic: New York Rangers center Vincent Trocheck changed agents last week to Pat Brisson. He is now responsible for moving Trocheck, after he was not dealt at the trade deadline. The Rangers figured they would get better offers this offseason.
The soon-to-be 33-year-old has three years at $5.625 million. The Guardians have confirmed that they should not trade him. GM Chris Drury might be fine with a first-round pick and opportunity, depending on who they deal with.
The list of interested parties can be limited. The Minnesota Wild talk has cooled. The Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins may not see the cost right when they are in a rebuild/retool. A trade for Dylan Larkin would take one suitor out of the mix.
The Carolina Hurricanes were interested in re-acquiring Trocheck last season, so they may revisit. The Buffalo Sabers may be looking ahead. The Montreal Canadiens may be looking for a second line center, and the same can be said for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Chris Johnston reported that the Maple Leafs have spoken with the Rangers about Trocheck.
New York Rangers Top Prospects: Rankings, Analysis and Projections
He has a 12-team no-trade list that goes up to a 10-team no-trade list on July 1st. Trocheck may be more open in the West than he was at the deadline. The Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and Utah Mammoth may be interested in adding a center.
