Dwayne Johnson reveals ‘really painful’ cancer scare

Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he recently had a cancer scare that he hid from everyone – including his wife, Lauren Hashian.

In a new interview with Esquire, the 54-year-old actor explained that he was in the shower one day when he felt a lump on his testicles that “hurt to the touch.”

He went to the doctor three days later and was told that he might have epididymitis, which is an inflammation of the tube behind the testicle that stores sperm.

But Johnson was also warned that he might have cancer and would need an ultrasound soon, which didn’t happen as he was booked all day at a promotional event for his next film “Jumanji”.

“So I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to sit all day, joking, talking,” he told Esquire.

The former WWE star noted that he “didn’t tell” Hashian, 41, about the health scare.

“I didn’t want to worry him before I knew if there was anything to worry about,” Johnson explained.

Johnson has been married to Hashian since 2019. They share daughters Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, and Johnson is also father to daughter Simone, 24, from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.

The “Smashing Machine” star confirmed that she is “fine” now after the shock.

“But I didn’t know that at the time,” he said, “and it really hurt.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Johnson admitted that he uses ChatGPT to help him with his intense workouts.

“In three seconds, he comes back with a practice program that turns the light on and off the pencils,” he said. “As it came from ten of the greatest coaches I’ve ever worked with.”

Johnson said ChatGPT’s “straightforward” exercise program has resulted in “a f-king awesome workout.”
