Sports Reporter Carjacked at Gunpoint on Live TV

Mexican sports reporter Fernando Vargas he was robbed at gunpoint in a dramatic scene that was played on live television.
Vargas was sitting in his car at a gas station to do a live segment on it Blah, blah, blah deportivothe Mexican sports show that analyzes Active Deportes, on Tuesday, May 19, when a man is seen on the driver’s side of his car.
The man opened Vargas’ car door and started looking for Vargas while holding a gun. It did not appear that the robber knew that Vargas was on live television.
“Key, hurry. Key, phones, and wallets, quick,” the man told Vargas in Spanish.
Vargas promptly answered his phone as a studio host Ed Martinez it was left to continue broadcasting. “This is not going to happen,” Martinez could be seen saying as it happened.
Shortly after the broadcast, Martinez released an update on social media about Vargas’ condition.
“Thank you, he’s safe, but he’s scared,” Martinez shared on Instagram after the shocking incident. “If anyone sees the boy in the video, please help us and report him to the authorities. This happened in Morelos.”

Morelos is located in south central Mexico, about 80 kilometers outside of Mexico City.
According to the store’s report Infobaebased in Mexico City, Vargas’ car was stolen by a gunman, along with his wallet, cell phone and other belongings.
It is reported that Vargas tried to persuade the thief to allow him to hold his ID, but the man refused. He received help from the National Guard and has filed a formal police complaint.
The gunman had not been identified or arrested at press time.
Vargas has been a popular journalist in Mexico for over 23 years, in Infobaewho is a national and international basketball expert.
“He currently works as the Communications Director of the Caliente.mx LNBP League, where he coordinates strategies related to media relations, content, and talent management,” the report said. “He also leads business projects as Operations Director of Grupo Empresarial Díaz.”
In addition to his media work, Vargas also teaches “master’s level courses focused on sports management” at the Universidad Amerique, Mexico City.
A video of the armed robbery has gone viral, with one social media site receiving more than 300,000 views at the time of publication.
“For the love of God! What a country we have become!!!” one person commented on the video.
