Marco Rubio becomes a viral meme sensation during Trump’s second term

NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!

Marco Rubio has conquered the internet world.

The word most often associated with him is “hilarious.”

He has become a one-man meme, with endless fake photos of him in different outfits to exaggerate his many careers.

When a high-ranking government official talks too badly, he often does something disruptive.

WHAT DOES RUBIO’S GROWTH AS AN INTERNET ‘FIXER’ TELL US ABOUT TODAY’S POLITICS

But here’s the difference: Rubio is joking.

In fact, he did everything he could to fan the flames of his internet fame.

The secretary of state has many jobs, including national security adviser, and, for a time, acting national archivist, acting head of the USAID program and de facto ruler of Venezuela.

First of all, he really has a sense of humor.

A football coach, a sailor, a Viking, an Eskimo, a Canadian mountie, an armed bandit, an astronaut, a medieval student, a poorly masked plumber – all posted by users with funny captions.

And all this comes as President Trump has been asking his advisers: JD or Marco?

Not that anyone was thinking about 2028, right?

Peak Marco came when he told the media while filling in for Caroline Leavitt, who recently had a baby.

Rubio played dumb for some of it. He said he had a chart and the others had a red X next to their names, he quickly admitted he had done it.

He called another reporter dressed in black, and said, “you don’t have black, and you’re wearing blue,” even though he “can’t see color… This is a mess, guys… There’s no way I’m going to find out who to call… Do they get two questions?… I wissan’ it, guys… Let’s go, these guys are going crazy.”

Moments of wisdom have been compiled by internet pundits to the point where it sounds like a Netflix comedy special.

He answered one question in Spanish. Maybe I should mention that Rubio will be the first Latino president.

RUBIO’S TRUMP ADMIN JUGGLING ACT GROWS AS LIST OF MEME-FIT ROLE BECOME REAL

“The Rubio memes are the funniest thing to hit in today’s politics in decades,” said Washington Post columnist Megan McArdle. “The whole family can enjoy them, from your MAGA uncle to your #NeverTrump nephew, from your ‘resistance lib’ cousin to your ‘overflowing’ brother.

“Rubio Memes Conquer the Internet,” said Newsweek.

“Marco Rubio’s Meme-Worthy Rise to Center of Trump’s Second Term,” said the Miami New Times.

But the secretary is also disciplined, like when he talks tough about Iran. He answered the question of whether the US firing on Iranian ships should be considered an act of war by reframing the situation.

“These guys are closing the Strait of Hormuz … People are not allowed to go through there without paying 100% to the Iranians. If you do that, they will keep the Strait closed forever. It’s not an act of war, it’s a defensive measure. You know what an act of war is? Putting mines in the water … This is what they’re doing, but they’re crazy.”

But many analysts, not only in Tehran, consider the US attack an act of war.

President Trump, supported by Rubio, was even worse, saying yesterday that the Iranian suspension “is based on life support … If you don’t believe it, how stupid are you. Are they stupid people? They didn’t want to believe it. They thought, well, I’m going to get tired of this or I’m going to be bored, or I’m going to be stressed. But there’s no pressure. None at all.

Now it’s possible that Vance may not be running — he and his wife are expecting another child — but whether it’s Rubio or Vance, both will be hard at work defending Trump’s record.

It’s not that the former Florida senator can’t act like a regular politician. I remember catching him in the hallway preparing for the 2016 campaign and asking if he was planning to run. He said he wasn’t thinking about it, which we both knew was BS.

During the campaign, I watched him work the audience and thought that this guy knows what to do behind the microphone. When the woman fainted, she stopped and made sure she got help before continuing.

I know one thing: once you run for president, you’ve been bitten by the bug.

Vance, as vice president, is the frontrunner. Rubio has said he won’t run if Vance does, and they have a friendly relationship. Trump wants Rubio to be second on the ticket.

But there’s Marco’s surgery going on, and he’s more than happy to ride that wave.

Oh, there’s one more thing. At a family event, Rubio was seen working on a music board as people danced – what we called a spinner.

The reporter asked about his moniker.

“You’re not ready for my DJ name,” he said with a big laugh.

Now that’s a rock ‘n’ roll Republican.
