It’s rare to see ‘Seinfeld’ alum Michael Richards spotted out in public for the first time in two years

“Seinfeld” alum Michael Richards was spotted in a rare spot on Sunday, the first time he’s been photographed in public in two years.

The actor, 76, was photographed out and about in West Hollywood, California, over the weekend in photos obtained by Page Six. Despite the sunny weather, Richards covered up in a black jacket, black jeans and boots.

Richards, who was wearing glasses, appeared to be alone when they left.

The last public event she attended was the premiere of “Unfrosted” back in May 2024 to support her “Seinfeld” co-star Jerry Seinfeld. The event marks her first red carpet appearance in eight years.

The actor has been largely unrecognizable after hurling racial slurs at hecklers during a 2006 comedy show at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. Richards — best known for playing the eccentric Cosmo Kramer on the sitcom “Seinfeld” — yelled at two Black men in the audience with shocking expletives before walking off stage.

Richards revisited the incident in his 2024 memoir, “Entrances and Exits.” He remembered someone on the balcony shouting, ‘You’re not laughing. We don’t think you’re very funny!,’” he said, waking her up.

Richards wrote, “Yeah, looking back, I wish I’d agreed with him,” adding, “He went down and I went down even more.”

The comedian said he was offended by the heckler’s statement that he was not funny.

“He put it clearly, quite simply, my biggest fear – not joking,” he admitted. “Later, I will realize that all of this, all of what He says, is me. His Word is my voice. All of this is happening to ME. My lowliness is starting to set in. My anger is exploding.

He also shared that when his “Seinfeld” co-stars – Seinfeld, Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus – all approached him after the incident, he was “embarrassed” and “worried about it spilling over on them.”

In May 2024, Richards revealed that he had privately battled prostate cancer in 2018 and underwent surgery to remove his entire prostate.

“It should have been stopped immediately,” he told People. “I had to have a full operation, if I hadn’t, I would probably have died in eight months.”

Richards said he wants to live for his youngest son, Ben, who he lives with his wife, Beth Skipp.

“I thought, ‘Well, this is my time. “But then my son came to my mind after a few seconds, and I felt myself saying, ‘I have a 9-year-old, and I would like to have him.

The actor has a daughter, Sophia, with his ex-wife, Cathleen Lyons.
