A fiery crash killed a woman on the 10 Freeway while vigilantes hunted a fleeing suspect

Bystanders caught a man fleeing after his reckless driving allegedly caused a fatal crash on the 10 Freeway in Los Angeles on Monday.

The suspect was said to be walking between cars, crossing four lanes until he clipped a blue Toyota Prius, said witnesses.

The impact was enough to send the Prius crashing into the median along with two other vehicles and burst into flames.

LAFD responded at 7:16 pm and took control of the driver of the Prius, who was in the car when the flames broke out, and he died on arrival.

Witnesses described the fire to KTLA as “huge” and “very hot.” The second driver is said to be in critical condition and needs to be hospitalized.

But a third aggressive driver allegedly took off as witnesses desperately tried to save the driver of the Prius by smashing his window with a golf club.

A construction worker who was trying to save the driver had to stop his bravery when he saw the man running away.

It is believed that he ran and stopped her, chased her and caught her there until the California Highway Police arrived.

“I tackled him and put him down and just said, ‘Hey, man, stay here,'” construction worker Jacob Deegan told KTLA. “He kept trying to escape.”

Other witnesses to the crash helped Deegan keep the man in custody until CHP officers arrived to arrest him. It is not yet clear what crime the driver who is accused of being aggressive has been charged with.

Witness Eve Porinchak revealed at least one positive in this horrific accident, which claimed the life of an unknown woman.

“No matter what the rest of the world says about us, we are good people,” he said. “LA has a lot of good people who will help strangers. Thank you good people.”
