Inside the Divorce Settlement by Olivia and Ethan Plath

Welcome to Plathville the stars Ethan again Olivia Plath they have finalized their divorce almost three years after separating.

According to documents obtained by Us Weekly and filed in Minnesota District Court in February, Ethan, 27, and his ex-wife, Olivia, 27, both signed a financial agreement to dissolve their marriage. As part of their divorce declaration, the former couple agreed to waive any spousal support claim.

“Both parties recognize that after paying the normal and necessary costs of living, they do not have the power to pay the other,” the document reads. “Each party agrees that his or her termination of maintenance is fair and equitable, that it is supported by adequate considerations, including a corresponding termination of maintenance.”

Ethan is allowed to keep bank and investment accounts set up in his name and a collection of classic cars — including a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker (worth $3,000), a 1978 Chrysler New Yorker ($5,000) and a 1937 Plymouth ($8,000).

Olivia gets to keep her company, Sunshine Media, and all investment and bank accounts in her name, as well as the 2016 Subaru Outback, which did not receive a means test as part of the divorce settlement.

As part of the filing, Ethan listed his primary employer as Welcome to Plathville network TLC and estimated his monthly income to be around $2,500. Olivia runs her own company, Sunshine Media, and works as a “group host in the State of Virginia,” whose salary varies from month to month.

Each party has agreed to pay any debts incurred under their name and will hold their former spouse “harmless from any similar payment.”

Olivia will keep her married name, “Plath,” as part of the settlement, rather than returning to her maiden name, “Meggs.”

Us has reached out to representatives for Ethan and Olivia for comment.

News of the scandal comes on the heels of Welcome to Plathville season 8 premieres on Tuesday, March 31, when Ethan accuses Olivia of dragging her feet in finalizing their divorce. (The Plaths filed for joint divorce in February 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce.)

“Olivia won’t call or answer, do anything,” he told viewers. “He’s trying to set me up on purpose, trying to make my life hell, I believe Olivia won’t let me go because she doesn’t want to let me move on to someone else. I think that’s her intention.

Ethan also confirmed that he recently broke up with his girlfriend Teegan Nichols after going public with their romance in December 2024. The couple had a long-distance relationship as she recently moved to Georgia from Minnesota while Nichols lived in Wisconsin.

“I knew he was tired of traveling so far, and I kept telling him I was going to move to Wisconsin and I never did,” he said. “You can tell someone many times, ‘I’m going to do this,’ and you don’t do it and it doesn’t mean anything.”

Last October, Olivia revealed on the “Lovett or Leave It” podcast that she wanted to divorce Ethan just one year into their marriage. Olivia remembers that she felt “burdened by all the family problems” but agreed to stop the divorce because of her father’s advice.

“I remember my father telling me, ‘If you divorce, it will break God’s heart and it will break my heart,'” he said. “[I thought]’I think I should check it out.’”

Ethan and Olivia tied the knot in Whigham, Georgia, in October 2018 when they were both 20 years old. They had no children when they were married.
