Taylor Swift needed her getaway car on Saturday night.
The pop star was seen leaving Paul McCartney’s concert in Hollywood at the Fonda Theater over the weekend, narrowly avoiding a run-in with John Mayer.
In the photos, obtained by Page Six on Monday, the 36-year-old singer is wearing a black dress and choker while chatting with Olivia Rodrigo.
Hug some friends before leaving the place.
Mayer, on the other hand, was photographed leaving in a separate post-show exit.
The “Your Body is a Wonderland” crooner, in particular, belonged to Swift between late 2009 and early 2010.
Swift’s October 2010 song, “Dear John,” is widely believed to be about Mayer, though she has never confirmed the rumors.
The lyrics call out the mysterious man for dating her when she was “too young” at 19 and playing “dark, twisted games.”
Two years later, Mayer broke the “scandal[ing]” was dismissed as a “cheap lyric” in a heated interview with Rolling Stone, who called the diss track a “crazy thing” for him.
“I know you’re the biggest thing in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s a waste of your talent to throw your hands together and say, ‘Wait until he gets a load of this!'” he told the magazine in 2012. “That’s bulls–t.”
Swift responded during Glamor’s sit-down, insisting that Mayer was “presumptuous” because she “didn’t disclose[s] WHO [her] songs are about.”
He asked the interviewer not to share Mayer’s comments, saying, “I know it wasn’t good, so I don’t want to know.
Mayer’s song “Paper Doll” came out in 2013, with fans believing that the line “22 girls in one” is a bad reference to Swift’s song “22.”
“100 Percent” denied this in a 2019 Instagram Live, insisting, “The person they thought it was about brought some superficial pop culture to it. But the song wasn’t about that person.”
He admitted, however, that the single is “a little dog” while chatting with audience members during the April 2023 concert.
“I wonder if people don’t like you because you sound angry,” he said at the time. “I think she was seriously injured.”
Since their short-lived relationship, Mayer has been linked to singer Katy Perry and, more recently, influencer Kat Stickler.
Swift, on the other hand, is engaged to Travis Kelce, and Page Six confirms that the couple will travel to Rhode Island this summer.
