Patriots’ Stefon Diggs Won’t Propose To Cardi B After Super Bowl

Stephen Diggs he’s looking to win his first ring when his New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks in this year’s Super Bowl, but the wide receiver might just pull it out.
“It’s in the plan, maybe, isn’t it?” Diggs, 32, said this at a press conference on Monday, February 2, when asked if he plans to propose to his girlfriend. Cardi B. “I have to find mine first, though.”
The Patriots are underdogs against the Seahawks in their upcoming game on Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating if Diggs will get down on one knee immediately after the game amid a possible postgame celebration. His speech to reporters won’t do much to quiet the conversation.
Cardi, 33, was married to a rapper Offset from 2017 to 2023 and the two share three children.
Although Diggs didn’t commit to a game-day proposal, Cardi was by Diggs’ side — and on the court — throughout the New England final. He even answered questions from NFL Network after the Patriots dispatched the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game.
“I feel very happy and very happy for him, I am proud of him,” he said at the time. “He just came back from ACL and I can see the progress and the process.”
Diggs played in just eight games in 2024, his only season with the Houston Texans, before tearing his ACL in October. He signed a three-year contract with the Patriots after the season.
Cardi also praised the way her boyfriend works.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, you wake up and you’re beautiful,'” she said. “You are ordered, you go to bed early, you wake up early, you don’t miss a single day at work, nothing.”
Diggs and Cardi were first linked in October 2024, but didn’t confirm their relationship until the following summer. The couple welcomed their first child in October 2025.
“My life has been a combination of different chapters and different seasons,” Cardi wrote on Instagram at the time. “My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over is never easy but it’s been great! I brought new music and a new album into the world! A new baby in my world, and one reason to be the best version of me, one reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue to give my children the love and life they deserve.”
Cardi has also supported Diggs in his recent legal troubles as he faces charges of felony strangulation and assault and battery after an alleged December 2025 incident involving his former chef.
Diggs has denied the allegations against him and his trial, which was scheduled for January 23, has been postponed until after the Super Bowl.
“Stefon Diggs denies these allegations,” his attorney said David Meier said the statement to Us Weekly in December. “They have no evidence, no evidence, and have never been investigated – because they never happened. The time and motivation to make these allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employer-employee financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to finding the truth in a court of law.”
