US TSA officials receive third blank check as DHS shutdown deepens

FIRST ON FOX – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials are getting their third zero-dollar paycheck on Friday as DHS closes – and President Donald Trump said last Thursday he would sign an executive order to “immediately pay our TSA Agents to deal with this Emergency” and “immediately stop the Democratic chaos at the Airports.”

The TSA exclusively shared with Fox News Digital the stories of officials stationed at various airports around the country who were facing great difficulties due to the closure of vehicles and its consequences, names omitted for privacy reasons.

One police officer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia suddenly had his dream of owning a home dashed – forcing him to make life-changing decisions.

His bank refused him a loan to buy a house in Georgia because he couldn’t pay the rent.

The police officer now has to travel almost 1,000 kilometers to live with his family in New York.

The house burns down without a salary

Yet another TSA officer, this one working at Tulsa International Airport in Oklahoma, faced a devastating house fire last week over unpaid wages.

As a result, he lost his house, his belongings, his car and his beloved pet.

He and his family now have to rebuild their lives not knowing when he will be paid.

No electricity, you can’t get it back

Another TSA officer had put his life on hold to move to New York to work at Albany International Airport.

Now, due to back-to-back foreclosures and his lack of steady payments, his credit score has dropped from 800 to 500.

To survive, he moved to a campsite, the agency reported. The electricity in the camp is out – and he has no money to fix it.

Homes and cars are damaged, they can’t fix it

At the beginning of the month, powerful storms hit Michigan, tornadoes that reduced some houses to rubble and caused widespread damage in the Great Lakes State.

Many TSA officers working at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport were left with damaged homes and vehicles. Today, these officers cannot fix themselves, the TSA told Fox News Digital.

Major medical expenses are not covered

A TSA agent who works at Portland International Airport in Oregon is her mother’s sole caregiver. He also supports his brother.

Now, his mother has been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and his brother has a severe leg ailment – rendering him unable to work.

The TSA officer is responsible for the medical expenses of these family members.

He cannot buy Easter baskets for his children

A TSA agent at the Bismarck airport in North Dakota has worked there for nearly 10 years – enduring multiple government shutdowns.

He had to make a difficult decision now to leave the job he loves after realizing that he won’t even be able to buy Easter baskets for his children this year.

Since the partial government shutdown began, more than 480 TSA officers have been forced to resign.

The agent realized that he would not be able to buy Easter baskets for his children this year.

“I can tell you right now that the dynamics that will be felt on this will take a long time,” TSA Deputy Administrator Adam Stahl told Fox News Digital this week.

“They will continue for days [even] after getting reallocations and funding, especially for the TSA.”

“We are already taking strong steps to ensure that we will lead our people as quickly as possible,” he added.
