Doctor Accused of Raping, Sexually Assaulting 11 Patients Charged

A disgraced Massachusetts doctor is accused of raping and sexually assaulting 11 of his female patients — and now, he’s been indicted by a grand jury.

Derrick Todd52, who lives in Wayland but practiced in Framingham, was charged with three counts of rape and 17 counts of assault and battery for allegedly sexually assaulting 11 women, the Middlesex district attorney said. Marian Ryan announced this week.

“The defendant is accused of examining the pelvis and breast unnecessarily and for a long time, performing procedures without proper training or certification and conduct outside the acceptable standards of health care,” said Ryan in a press release on Thursday, March 19. to perform such treatment.”

The alleged rape and sexual assault occurred between 2021 and 2023 while he worked as a rheumatologist and general practitioner at Charles River Medical Associates.

The victims are between 20 and 60 years old.

Todd previously worked as a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, according to online records.

Charles River Medical Associates called law enforcement after receiving anonymous complaints about Todd.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the depth and breadth of the harm Dr. Todd is accused of causing,” the medical department said in a statement to 7NEWS. “We will continue to provide support and respond to the needs of our patients during this difficult time.”

Todd was charged with two counts of rape in January by two other women who were his patients. Ryan said the attacks allegedly occurred in December 2022 and June 2023 during medical examinations.

Todd also faces a lawsuit filed by more than 250 former patients who have accused him of sexual abuse.

Under the guise of medical treatment, the defendant is accused of abusing multiple women while practicing medicine in Framingham.”

Todd denies the allegations made in the case. However, he has since surrendered his medical license.

Todd posted $10,000 bail at his January arraignment. A fresh bail hearing will take place when he appears in court on the new charges on March 25 at Middlesex High Court.
