DHS is looking for an immigration detainer accused of targeting children with Robux

FIRST ON FOX: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have filed an arrest warrant for an illegal immigrant from Mexico who has been charged with soliciting sexual content from children under the age of 10.

Angel David Rubio Marin allegedly used “Robux” in the Roblox video game to lure children into sending him videos and pornographic images of at least three minors under the age of 10. He was arrested in Prince William County, VA.

Rubio Marin was previously charged with two counts of public masturbation, but was released in Virginia before the current charges, according to DHS.

“This culture preyed on innocent children by paying them with video game money to access child pornography,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Biss told Fox News Digital in a statement. “This illegal alien has been RELEASED from prison after being arrested for masturbating in public. This case is a great example of why we need state and local cooperation with ICE.”

“We are asking local Virginia politicians and Governor Spanberger to commit to not releasing this criminal back into Virginia,” Bis added. “No one wants this sexual harassment to be unleashed on the streets of America.”

Roblox is an online video game where users interact through chat. Robux is an in-game currency where players can purchase equipment and items for their character. The game is popular among young children.

Roblox has made it clear that the forum’s filters make it difficult for users to share photos or videos through in-game chat.

Rubio Martin entered the US illegally at an unknown location and time, according to DHS.

The department was quick to criticize Democratic Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, who cut off cooperation with federal agencies and immigration authorities in an executive order in February shortly after she was inaugurated.

In a statement released after signing the order, he said requiring state and local officials to take over immigration duties diverts them from their primary responsibilities of enforcing Virginia law and investigating crimes.

According to Spanberger, changing those duties can damage the relationship between police and citizens and create an atmosphere of fear and distrust that ultimately makes it more difficult for police to do their job effectively.

The order also reverses the 287(g) program adopted under former Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin. That policy allowed certain local law enforcement officials to perform limited immigration responsibilities under the direction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), including helping to ensure that illegal immigrants who are released are returned to communities and identifying illegal immigrants who have been detained in local jails.

Fox News Digital reached out to Spanberger’s office but did not receive a response.
