Beckham is the latest of many global football and legends to have exclusive deals with the digital gaming giant.

He previously had an exclusive deal with Panini America, a rival trading card manufacturer, which was signed in 2021. It is not known what the funds of this partnership are.

The president of trading cards for Fanatics Collectibles, David Leiner, told the conference that Topps, the trading card and collectibles that Fanatics acquired in 2022, had never worked with Beckham.

“We did cards, some parts of his picture, all those things when we owned the Premier League rights. But we never had autographs.”

That all changes with this deal, and it starts with Beckham’s special “Superfractor” card in the 2026 Premier League Chrome Packs, which will be available at retail on Feb 5.

Fanatics and the EPL agreed to an exclusive deal through 2024 after the major league soccer team spent six years working with Panini America.

Leiner said Beckham will be a huge asset to their marketing efforts as the multi-year partnership continues to develop.

“I think it makes the portfolio a lot better, it gives us more developed characters here to work with,” Leiner explained. “The deal includes significant marketing. … We plan to collaborate with David and do many exciting things for fans and collectors, and hopefully bring more people into the world of collecting with David.”

Besides the EPL, Fanatics Collectibles has exclusive partnerships with UEFA Club Competitions (since 2015), MLS (since 2012) and Bundesliga (since 2008).

And Fanatics has traveled the world with its flagship stores, including the nearby Piccadilly Circus in London, which is set to open in April 2025.

“Soccer is the biggest sport in the world, and soccer has a long way to go until it becomes a major league,” said Leiner.

“A player like David Beckham, will continue to raise the collections, raise the Topps brand.”
