Major champion Shane Lowry hopes to make a big start to the 2026 PGA Tour season with an early victory at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
The veteran, ranked 32nd in the Official World Golf Ranking, earned a T8 in his first start of the year at Pebble Beach. At the Cognizant Classic, Lowry finished T2 after dropping the win on Sunday. Since then, Lowry has not looked good. He missed two consecutive cuts, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.
He is likely hoping to renew his momentum at Memorial Park this week with the 2026 Masters just two weeks away.
After a back-9 start in Round 1, Lowry will switch to an afternoon tee time and begin Friday’s second round.
Lowry will begin his second round on Friday at 1:42 pm ET with playing partners Rickie Fowler and Wyndham Clark.
